Evaluation and appeals

Evaluation

The Agency reviews all applications for adherence to program guidelines. An independent panel of experts assesses applications in each program or grant area. This panel make a series of recommendations to the Consultative Council regarding funding decisions.

The Agency reserves the right to enter into direct negotiations with, or request further information from applicants. Additionally, eligible applicants may be invited to discuss their application with the independent panel or Consultative Council. The lodging of an application does not confer any entitlement upon the applicant. The making of a recommendation is at the discretion of the independent panel.

The Agency adheres to the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Code for the responsible conduct of research.
